Real Sociedad B unveils 2026-27 third kit: red with Basque details
Real Sociedad B on Thursday unveiled its third kit for the 2026-27 season: a red shirt with green and white details on the collar, sleeves, shorts and socks, paying tribute to the Basque ikurriña flag. The club currently sits in 17th place in La Liga with 0 points as it gears up for the new campaign.
The txuriurdin side presented the kit this morning with a statement explaining the choice of red: “it evokes the passion that unites generations of realzales, blending at the neck with green and white to bring the ikurriña to life”. The shirt is more than just a kit: “it reflects our roots and our pride stitched into a very special shirt”, the club added.
Who modeled the new third kit?
Real Sociedad B selected three figures tied to the club to wear the new third kit. Alberto de la Bella, former txuriurdin player and left-back legend, was one of the models. Joining him were Lucas Eguibar, Olympic medallist in snowboarding and a Basque sporting ambassador, and Beñat Turrientes, midfielder for the first team who has also played for the B side.
The unveiling featured professional photos of the trio in the kit, highlighting the contrast of red against the green and white accents. “Ready to take our identity to every corner of Europe”, the club stressed in its statement.
Why this kit matters for the B team
Real Sociedad B introduced this third kit after last season’s second kit caused problems. The grey shirt was barely usable due to sponsor conflicts, forcing the side to rely on an unbranded orange kit. Now, with the red kit inspired by the ikurriña, the B team reclaims its Basque identity on the pitch.
The design aims to connect with fans and reinforce the image of a club deeply rooted in Gipuzkoa. “It’s not just another shirt”, the club insisted, betting on garments with meaningful identity to compete in Segunda División RFEF.
What’s next for the txuriurdin B side?
With the kit now launched, Real Sociedad B is focused on preparing for the 2026-27 season. The team, which kicks off the campaign in Segunda División RFEF with promotion ambitions, will look to consolidate its youth project with young talents like Turrientes as leaders.
The new kit is already available at the club’s official store, where fans can buy it as a symbol of support for the B side. The club insists the shirt is “a cry of identity” to carry the name of Gipuzkoa across Spain, even as the team sits at 0 goals scored and 0 conceded so far this La Liga season.
